The issue is what might have changed since the last time things were
working smoothly and your unsuccessful installation of CV. It sounds like something sure it messing with your system right now, based on the problems with even downloading CV. The goal of my question was simply to spark your memory on what application might be the culprit. :-) It could also be a new version of something that was auto-updated to blame. No, CV is the only thing I've updated recently, and I don't use auto-update on anything because it can cause problems. (like these
That QuickTime thing was weird though...
