I also use RW as...
1) a database to organise my research (pedagogy stuff). Instead of having to go through books and copies worth of technical details, I just put everything in its correct categories and I have never had my research so well organised and easy to consult.
2) a database to organise my novel and the whole world it is set in. The Chapters and arcs are wonderfully easy to adapt, although I created my own templates.

I have contemplated using RW as a database engine to track a collectibles inventory with pictures, values, conditions, notes, etc. I know it will work great, I'm just not sure if I want to invest the time it takes.

I use it as such to track my various RPG materials like maps and minis.

I'd love to, but I'm not putting anything in until I know I can get it out....

It's been "coming" for a loooooong time. Except when it wasn't.

I'll make sure I have it in hand and working well first, thanks.

First rule about beta is that we do not talk about beta..

But in this case coming soon when talking about import export ability is a very different conversation than it would be possible to have if you were instead talking about custom calendars.

Yup. I know it's *actually* coming soon. But I'm still trying hard not to anticipate.

I am getting excited for the first time in a while, though...

Exactly. I'm glad something is coming, but until it's actually here, the bugs from exposing it to the wider world are worked out, and I figure out how to create a workflow using it I'm not holding my breath.

As far as usage goes, most of my use of Realm Works has been for writing convention-length (~4 hour) adventures, not for running a campaign. I think it makes a decent combined rulebook, but there are pros and cons for using something like RW for that vs. something publicly available for free online. (Licensing limits you quite a bit here.)

I expect all of us here are biased, though. ;)

Simple answer: Get RW!!!

However, your idea sounds awesome, and though I am only marginally familiar with PF, I'd be willing to help out with this project for the d20 system, just let me know what I can do.
