I'd like to see an Improved Grab tag, if that's possible. I need a pre-requisite of Improved Grab, but I noticed that was given as individual special abilities. A tag would be helpful in determining if a creature has Improved Grab. As it is, my only option is the make a user tag and recreate all the improved grab critters.

I'm not sure if they can all be combined into one, I think they may. I believe most all that can be combined will be combined soon. But doing tags is also doable, since eventually all MM creatures will be recreated. So modifying them all to forward a tag is a possibility too once the MM batches get updated. |

The community MM update, or are you talking about a LoneWolf update of the MM? I don't want to do alot of work that I don't really need to if eventually they will be added to the base of the d20 system.

I don't think we will see LoneWolf work on the MM anytime soon. |

I'm hoping that once I'm able to bring Pathfinder's Type/Subtype system over to the d20 files (I'm sorry to say that's a project I won't be able to get to for a while), that the authors of the MM project would offer to donate the SRD portions of the MM project to the d20 files. Otherwise, I'm afraid to say, it will be a long while before I'll be able to schedule enough time to work on that project myself.

Sure thing, happy to help. But Mathias, you may want to look at the monster files and how we are doing Core Monster Powers before you accept. I don't know precisely how you plan to do things, but you may have to recode to get rid of all the User tags and whatnot I've been making.

Like when the Pathfinder Bestiary was added, the initial steps for a monsters project will be adding a Type/Subtype system and going through the list of abilities from the back of the book, making sure all of them are available to use.
In general, look at how Pathfinder does things if you have a question about how I eventually want to implement things in d20 - I still want to be able to get all the Pathfinder upgrades implemented for d20, too, at some point. |
