If I am running (as a GM) HL on my laptop, and the players in my group are running it on theirs, can we link them, so that I can manipulate what's on their chacters?

Yeah, I've got D20, and am still trying to learn it. But, I'm thinking for more of when we're all at the table together, and we're simply using HL as virtual character sheets, without D20.

As a way to do that, you might just have herolab running on one machine, and then use a program such as Teamviewer (http://www.teamviewer.com ) to have everyone remote into your machine.
(Just an idea). Of course everyone will be fighting for the mouse!!! |

You can also import the HL files to each machine and view them on the Tacticle Display.

Right. I think he wants to be able to relay changes. Like if he drops someone's Dex by 2, it reflects it on their machine. I think that the Desktop sharing is the easiest solution for that.

Duggan,
Do you mean the "teamviewer' option mentioned above? |

Yes. I can't endorse the specific program in question, due to lack of experience, but there are a number of remote access and remote viewing programs out there.

Hero Lab can't currently do what you're asking for, although it's something we hope to add in the future. For now, I recommend you check out a virtual tabletop program like d20pro - that's likely to do what you want.
