OK so I downloaded the latest version of HeroLab today (1.6a?), and it is telling me that the PDF Maker is out of date and can't be used. I try and download the PDF Maker and I get an error saying that a program that uses it is in use and it can't install it until the program is closed. But I can't close the program while PDF Maker is trying to install, and I can't install PDF Maker with HeroLab closed

I got the same message
It shows buttons for "Cancel" and "Retry"

Close HeroLab, and click "Retry"

Just thought I would say I've run into the same problem. No matter whats running or not (I've killed just about every process I can without making my system crash) and I still can't run the PDF update. I'll try the suggestion mentioned earlier in the thread.

Edit: Downloaded the file and updated manually and it worked for me.

Go to http://www.wolflair.com/index.php?co...page=downloads

Scroll down to "Companion Tools"

Click "PDF Plug-In for Windows"

Download it.

Run It.

Worked for me. :-)

Yeah that works but its really not very intuitive. Can you please make it more obvious that you need to download it from the website and perhaps give a link?

I agree, not obvious, but sometimes I just don't let things go and figure them out.

As to them making it more obvious, I agree it would have saved me some of time, that is for sure.
