I'm not terribly impressed by the way the encounter builder is set up and what we lost for it. I do like the ability to set a CR budget and use the builder to stick to it, but I miss the way NPC's and monsters were neatly categorized in the old import menu. It made it much easier to find certain creatures by types, or to choose specific types of NPC's. Now, I have to dig and search for what I used to find in seconds.

I'd like to see the encounter builder improved by adding in options for the old categories you had in the import menu. Creature types, NPC types, sources, that sort of thing. It'd be very handy to be able to filter the list by the old categories, if it would be possible. As it is, it takes me longer to build an encounter when I don't have a specific critter in mind, and I'm pretty sure that wasn't the goal.

Thanks for a great game aid, this minor complaint doesn't take away from how much I love Hero Lab. It's made running games so much easier.

The old import menu is still there. Go to Develope and about 3/4th of the way down is the Import Stock Hero option.

Some days I don't know why I bother to chew through the restraints.

Thanks, that's very helpful. Best of both worlds now.
