Having finally gotten a new mike I have uploaded the first video on how I use RW.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HBXnZGMohIc

I hope some people find this useful.

If anyone has any ideas for future videos I'd love to hear them.

Great video.

I have a question, I noticed your creating individual scenes, how will you organize them?
You can have a lot of various types of encounters over a whole adventurer better yet a campaign.

I would be interested in knowing how you will integrate your adventures/encounters to your world... Since this is something I am going to be tackling soon. Seems your list would be pages long if left as individual scenes per encounter.

RW - Needs Rez spell
HL - Game Master/Designer
RPG Tools - Campaign Cartographer 3+, D20 Pro Ultimate
Real Life - IT Security
Hobby - Anything on water or ATV

Have added this to the sticky list.

Loving the surge of new videos

Had no idea you could set the target CR like that in Hero Lab. That could be handy.

Do you find it beneficial to create the Hero Lab encounter outside of Realm Works instead of triggering the creation directly from the HL Snippet? Do you re-use the saved files?

I generally use either the storyline topic or storyboard feature to organize story content. I'll show that in the next video I think. I know the storyboard is one of those features that gets over looked by a lot of people.

Creating in HL is just how I've always done it. I think I usually approach encounter design knowing what the adversaries will be so it is easy enough for me to open up HL and build them or pick them and put them into a file.

The encounter files don't get reused. I do have some portfolios that are generic things like "2nd level orc barbarian" that I have in a separate folder for when I need something like that.

@kbs666 - Sounds like you might save some HDD space by trying it the other way.

1. In RW create Hero Lab snippet.
2. Ensure the article is in edit mode.
3. Click the Puzzle Icon with the little green +
4. This will open HL, do exactly what you normally do to create the encounter
5. Simply close HL
6. HL will recognize the change and will ask if you have finished editing.

And that's it. No need to store external files. Goes straight into RW and stays there.

Waiting for the election results was driving me nuts so here's another video.

This one's on storylines and the storyboard. Enjoy.
