I'm on Ubuntu, and run Hero Lab through WINE. However, with the new version, I receive an error that says that the version of Windows I'm running does not support Hero Lab.
How would I fix this problem? Thanks! |

Can you tell Wine to pretend it's Windows XP? That should fix the issue.

Windows XP is the default (for Fedora 24 anyway). Changing to mimic Windows 7 fixed the problem for me.
winecfg » Applications tab » Default Settings » Windows Version: Windows 7 I currently only use wine for Hero Lab, so that was enough. If you use wine for other things, better might be to add the Hero Lab application on that tab, then change the windows version only for that app. Last edited by mMerlin; January 25th, 2017 at 02:13 PM. I set it to Windows 10, it was set on XP when the problem occurred, as that's the default setting for WINE.
