I saw a post about the iPad app, Air Display, and thought I would give it a try. It took awhile to figure out how to display onto the iPad, but I finally stumped my way through it. Unfortunately, the print is teeny tiny. Really. You can't read it. The pictures can be blown up to be seen decently on the iPad, but not the text. I thought it would be a good idea to be able to display onto the iPad for the players since we don't have a second screen. Great idea except the size.

I hate to think I wasted $10 for this app. The reviewers said they used it for Photoshop and other programs, but I don't see how based on the size. Has anyone else experimented with using an iPad as a second display? If so, how does it look? What app did you use? Would LW consider creating an app that either uses the iPad as a second display or some kind of something that will show the Player View onto the iPad?

I have personally used the free app DisplayLink along with the Windows video driver to make my iPad a second display for Realm Works. When I last did that, the Player View was shown on the iPad as 1024x768 resolution and looked just fine.

I looked at DisplayLink and it's for Macs only, I have Windows. So, I looked and bought two other programs to try (I couldn't try them without buying them :-P ). The first was iDisplay. I wasn't able to keep the Player View separate from my view. I then tried TwoMon. It worked beautifully without a lot of tweaking.

The only problem/suggestion I had was the size of the text. I can change the size of the picture so that everyone at the huge conference table can easily see it. It would be nice if we could change the size of the text viewed by the players so it would be more readable on a smaller monitor.

Davidp, I looked at the site you had and I didn't find any reference to iPads. Don't you need an app for the iPad as well as the computer to use the iPad as a second monitor? What did I miss when I read the information on the web page?

Oops. It looks like it is no longer supported or available.

I wonder why they discontinued it as it seemed to work as listed.
