Hi all,
I upgraded my HL on iPad today and the characters I have on Dropbox disappeared. I saw that you can import them now, however, when I do that the changes don't make it back to Dropbox and the copy I have in Dropbox gets out of sync with my HL on Windows. How do I get them syncing again between the two (automatically as it used to)? What am I doing wrong? Are there release note that describe the changes and a new set of published instructions? Thanks! -Mike |

You have to do it all manually now, as Dropbox changed the API.

Does LW have any instructions on doing this, from the perspective of someone who's never done it manually?
Thanks! |

On the iPad's Select Portfolio screen, click "Help" at the bottom right, and choose "Help on Using Hero Lab", and then "3. How do I move characters to my iPad?"

Hi, I've been trying to find clarification on this but I haven't been able to find a clear answer:
With the auto-syncing removed from DropBox, is that feature available on any other platform HeroLab uses? (e.g. iCloud, OneDrive, etc.?) Or was DropBox the only app that allowed that, any as of now, all backing up of portfolios now have to be done manually? And if so, if auto-saving planned for any future release? |

With respect, Ian, Dropbox announced in June of 2016 that the API was being depreciated in a year, and then extended it to September 2017 beyond their original shutdown date because other developers petitioned them for that.
They gave 15 months notice. That's hardly short notice. https://blogs.dropbox.com/developers...v1-deprecated/ |

Actually, the blog post is dated April 23, 2015 and is specifically regarding the deprecation of the Sync and Datastore APIs rather than the deprecation of the v1 Core API. See this post.
On the other hand, I do not see anything that prevents LW from using the underlying Core API (now will be the v2 APIs) to accomplish the same functionality... |

I can’t import anything from Dropbox now. All files are ghosted out. I can not select a single file to import into my hero lab on the iPad anymore. This worked fine a week or so ago. What has changed?

As an added update, I can export from hero lab on the iPad to Dropbox fine. The file appears there. But I can not import it back in!
