Would it be better to save each template I create from a book as it’s own file? Or should I save the entire pdf worth of templates as one file?

From my experience, it is easier to have them all in one file, that way you do not have to remember each individual name if you are trying to send them to a player.

Current Games:
5E Homebrew - DM

Recent Games:
Shadowrun 5E - GM
Pathfinder Homebrew - DM
Curse of Strahd 5E - Player

My HL Files - Birthright, Creatures, and items
Birthright Setting and D20Despot Let me know if it breaks.

I think one file per book is good practice, so you can easily refer to other content you've created, without needing to load a different file.
