Hi!

I think that the phrase "by group" in section 4.16 refers to geographical regeion topics. The suggestion is to group by a perfect fitting "cast list" instead.

However, I also need some more information (as outlined in my previous reply in this thread).

If NPCs travel, I contain them either wihtin a "wandering NPCs" or "region" cast list. The possible issue that might come up, is that there would be many cast lists containing a few NPCs. Example with a country of 1000 NPCs living across 200 towns in different areas: This means in the worst case, that I need 200 cast lists with 5 NPCs each. If some of them are "travellers" with different combinations of areas/towns the number increases further.

Of course this is an extreme example. I have much less NPCs at the moment, but I need some more info about the proper/recommended use of cast lists. Maybe there is a work in progress example. I have attached a current setup of the cast lists to this posting for comments

In the meantime I will try to test the suggestions made by the other users in this thread!

Thanks!

If I remember the survey correctly, there will be multiple Story Almanacs eventually with World Almanac containing everything. I will likely be setting some almanacs up for regions/detailed cities so that my cast lists are regionalized and manageable.

Thank you, Santa, for making this request happen! It's pretty huge for folks making a large sand-box setting or that will be importing a lot of material from Paizo. It'll help keep some sanity when the data sets get gargantuan.
