EDIT: Nevermind, don't care that much about it. Wasn't going to buy lazy content anyway. It's the principle of the matter that annoys me.

Personally I find this sort of comment uncalled for and crosses a line. Villadelfia has an opinion relevant to this discussion. You may not agree with him, some people may not agree with you.

I am very disappointed that the community will be removing files as LW replaces them with paid content.
I support them publishing these APs. I do not support them banning links to the old community files and having them removed from the community repository. While I will be interested in getting encounter files for the APs I run...
- I already own most Pathfinder data packs, so the "does not require you to own everything" has no real appeal to me. - The job the Community did for encounters from modules and APs was already very good But... - I am not happy about not getting access to eventual Community-created .user files for the new monsters in the back matter of future APs. If I want to use such a monster in one of my home campaigns, and have its stats in HeroLab, I will now have to create it myself, or pay around 25$ to get a bunch of content I might never ever use (looking at you, Iron Gods), except for that one monster. (For simple monsters, I can create them myself just fine, but for more difficult critters, I am sorely lacking.) |

It was not an insult, just a statement to the human condition.

I have to admit that I'm not clear on how far "you don't need the packages" goes. I get that you don't need any extra packages to run the encounters in the AP, but what about things like the items that the PCs will gain as loot? What about things like setting-specific Traits for the PCs, or unusual creatures introduced for familiars or animal companions or mounts?

Enough. This is not appropriate, and I should not have to say this after Colen's post earlier. Please see my PM for more info.
To the general readers/posters in this thread: Insults stop here or I will break out my rarely used banning stick. Discussions and even disagreements are welcome in the forums, but things must remain civil and respectful. This no longer falls into that category. Charlieluce, I see your question, and I'll get back to you tomorrow. |
