If I start RealmWorks and don't log in, but click the Messages tab, I can read all of the messages that are there.
Is this intended? Players could read GM messages from other players without having to authenticate, as one possible downside. I'd expect that login would be required before ANYTHING for the account is displayed. No? |

I would assume that these messages are only the messages which you've already downloaded from the server (when you were last logged on). I don't think there is any security issue here.

All of the messages you've downloaded from the server being visible without logging in isn't a security issue?

Login is only needed for connecting to the cloud for downloads, no? You can access all the realm info on a computer is totally accessible without inputting a password so why not messages too?
If security is really a concern, make sure to log out of your computer when you step away. That seems to be more convenient than deleting all local realm data when you step away and then resynching when you come back which is the other alternative. |

Of course. Viewing the entire realm offline makes message reading kind of moot. Nevermind! |

Heh. Never used a standard email application, Max? ;)
(Thinking more, I probably have email older than some users of Realm Works. I feel old. :( Last edited by Parody; February 2nd, 2015 at 02:23 PM. |

Sometimes, we just need to step back for a second to see the trees in the forest.
