Orks - VDR Gargant Problems

making a gargant with the VDR rules, the program doesnt let me upgrade alot of the weapondry, like kannons and zzap guns. the big shoota can get all the options but most of the other guns cant. i went over the current VDR rules (CA 2004, i own it) and i dont see anywhere that they cant be upgraded.
