One of the most useful things for me that HeroLab does is keep track of PL of a character by checking all of the offenses, defenses and skills and figuring out which is the highest. However, because there are several things that can affect PL, I have to do a lot of hunting to figure out what went wrong if the numbers don't match what I want.
Since the program has to calculate all the PL-affecting traits in the background anyway, is it possible to have a separate tab that displays them all? I envision it in 3 sections: one for all forms of attack; one for the 3 defenses with possible variations (limited defenses, Deflect, etc); and one for any skills that total over 10 ranks. Each trait would have its own PL rating, as well as each section to reflect the overall PL for Offense, Defense and Skills. My thinking is that a definitive PL breakdown like this would be incredibly useful not only in designing characters, but evaluating them against each other. It would be immediately apparent what a character's focus is based on PL distribution and balance. I've seen you add other features that make great use of rollovers for extra info, and adding PL to that would be great, too. I think the tab would work best though since it centralizes all of the information. |

I think this has been suggested in the past, but I've never had the time to investigate it properly. I'll look into things and see how hard this would be to do.
