L5R Files Released

A new set of L5R files has finally been released. Yeah! This release should
address all the bugs reported and add a variety of promos/reprints that
have been reported. Please let me know what new bug reports you run into.

As for Reign of Blood, we have not yet received any data from AEG. I'll try
to find out what's gone awry and get ahold of the new data. I'm hoping that
the automatic converter is now in solid enough shape that getting the RoB
data into the files should not take more than a day's work. Keep those
fingers crossed! :-)

'Shinsei's Last Hope', only comes in Foil style, not Standard
Same for 'Tamori Shiki', which also is mispelled as 'Tamoi Shiki' and
should have the 'Tattooed' trait instead of 'Tattoo'

Also, the files are missing the Foil cards for Diamond Edition. Each rare
card in Diamond Edition has a Foil version as well as a Standard one.

Er, not knowing all the subtle nuances of L5R, and being led to understand
that Clan Rivals were PROMO cards, I did not setup a new Episode for them.
Changing that now will force the unique ids of the two existing cards to
change, leading to all sorts of confusion with the inventory database. I
can make the change if its critical, but is it critical for there to be a
new Episode for only a handful of cards?

Rivals from AEG so far, so I can only add the cards reported to me. Please
report them and I'll get them added.

I was previously informed that Clan Rivals was all reprints except for the
key "Rivals" cards that were new. Is this not the case? It's starting to
look like this IS a new episode. Would someone please explain the "logic"
of all this to me?

If I have to add the episode, thanks for flagging where it needs to be
inserted (since I'd otherwise have to ask). :-)

Sorry about that. It's now fixed on this end. Once I figure out what's
going on with the Clan Rivals situation, I'll get an update release that
includes all the foils. Hopefully, that means just a couple days.

No, it's not critical actually. They actually ARE promos, I suggested
that because they are all part of the same promotion and printed at the
same time. That, along with the number of foil reprints could entitle
them to their own 'release', which IMO is better than putting all promos
ever under the same release. But ir's your decision. I don't know much
how the files work but I wonder, could not them retain their unique id
even if they are changed of release?

There are a few more (from the Crane vs Lion kit), I'll try to get
copies.

Yep, they are reprints. Foil reprints of some cards that didn't have
previously a foil version because their standard version was common or
uncommon (normally only rares get the foil treatment). These are
specially printed along with the brand-new cards (Isawa Mino, Tamori
Shiki, etc.). I suppose you'd want to add them for completeness sake. If
so a 'Clan Rivals promotionals' Episode would be the better way IMO, in
order to give them a place in the MRP hierarchy. You lose this if you
add all of them to the 'Promotionals' generic episode.

Another option would be to add the brand new cards to the generic
'Promotionals' episode, and the foil reprints to a new 'Clan Rivals
reprints' episode (much like it was done with the 'HE reprints'
episode). But I think it is better to deal with all of them as one
release.

If you are asking AEG for the Reign of Blood files, make sure to ask for
'The Training Grounds' also. This is a new learn to play set and should
come right after RoB (the must have been printed almost simultaneously,
it appears). It includes four completely new cards and lots of reprints.
If possible, get also the text for all the reprints and not only the new
cards, as they all have their own numeration and new flavor texts for
every card. That means that, if you have two 'Charge' cards, each copy
of it has its own numeration and its own flavor text. If you put all
them following numerical order, they tell an story. If they'd give all
of it to you, it would save us lots of typing.

Also, make sure that the RoB files include two promos: 'Blade of
Thorns', which is the RoB pre-release prize, and 'Ruby of Iuchiban
(Exp)', which is the RoB boxtopper. Consider them part of the RoB
release. To my knowledge, both of them are standard-only, so no foil
version.
