Subject: Mordheim: Still a warband rating problem

I had mentioned this earlier, but the warband rating in Mordheim is
incorrect. It seems to be adding something additional to the rating
overall.

The rating is supposed to be 5 x # of members in band + Experience.
Whenever this is calculated by hand, it is 20 or more points off from the
armybuilder version.

This problem would not normally be an issue if everyone we played with was
using army builder, so they usually get an underdog bonus at the end of the
game if they maintain their roster by hand...

Any hints?

Scott

Do you have any large creatures, hired swords, or
Dramatis Persona in your warband. These all add extra
points to your warband rating. Most of the large
creatures like Rat Ogres, Minotaurs, Ogres, and Trolls
add an extra twenty points to the rating. Each of the
Hired swords and Dramatis Persona add a different
ammount which is listed in their discription. I'll bet
you aren't adding this when you write your own list.

Check that and see.

I downloaded the army builder software and the
Warhammer 40k data file, but when I pull it up I get
everything but the tau. I have seen them on army
builder at a friends but they don't show up in my
choice selection. What am I doing wrong?

Alex

Make sure you have the very latest files (3.4) which can be downloaded
from the automatic update, or from Shawn's site
(http://www.electricstitch.com/ab_files/).

Hi

Great job creating the ab files, keep up the good work! I was just wondering about another thing. My tyrant has the following:

scything talons, venom cannon, bio-plasma attack, warp blast. In the attacks column, it says 3/4. What does each figure indicate?

thanks, Brian

Hi

If I give my tyrant exceptional size, his ST and TO get a 6* instead of a 7. Is this intentional and if so what does the * mean?

thanks, Brian

A hive Tyrant is born with 3 attacks. His Venom cannon will thus be able to fire 3 shots.
Adding Scything talons will give him an additional attack in close combat, but not ranged.
In your case it means that your HiveTyrant has 3 ranged attacks and 4 CC attacks, thus 3/4.

The * after your ST and TO stats means, that one creature in the unit is mutaed and that this particular creature has other stats than the rest of the creatures in the unit - which still have their standard 6 in ST/TO. This is a bit silly in a Hive Tyrant unit, as there is only one creature in the unit, but the same system applies to other units. E.g. a Tyranid Warrior unit, where one model is mutated to EX. size. The mutated creature will have TO 5 while the 2-8 other warriors will have TO 4, thus the stat will be written as 4*.

Thanks everybody for your tips. I will do some tests and if the
results are good I will post them here.
