Entering a Trait that reduces the Attack Penalty of Combat Expertise by 1

I am trying to figure out what to use to have Hero Lab check to see if the Combat Expertise is activated. I know if should be something like


if (field[abilActive].value <> 0) then
hero.child[Attack].field[tAtkMelee].value += 1
endif

But I am not sure how to phrase it to get fComExpert involved

hero.childfound[fComExpert].field[abilActive].value <> 0

You'll check that, rather than checking if your trait is active, to determine whether or not to activate your ability.
