It would be convenient to have damage by the way in which damage is delivered. That is, whether the damage comes from a ranged weapon or a melee weapon. I'm sure others can think of other possibilities that HL lacks at, but I'm just interested in at least this. So, a dagger can be both a melee weapon or a ranged weapon (let's say it's primary function is melee), then the damage listed is melee, with ranged right underneath. The damage can be lined up with the attack type (melee or ranged). Then, I would have damage fields that better represent various aspects of the game system rather than a single damage field.

This came up in the following way. There are fields for attack bonuses for ranged and melee, but not for the damage. So, when I made a new adjustment for Power Attack, I noticed that all damage was changed when activated. So, I changed it so it can only be applied to active melee weapons, which means I have to look at whether they have a range tag. Unfortunately, some melee weapons have a range tag (i.e. dagger) which is a pain. Not to mention, in the tactical console, it ignores the range of a melee/ranged hybrid weapon, which is kind of annoying.

With the current damage field in place, I can't accurately track power attack (which is way too convenient to track in the tactical console rather than in one's head). Some weapons just do not accurately figure the damage because of the hybrid aspect of weapons. Put this on my wish list please.

Also, range should be broken down into Projectile and Thrown to accomodate Power Throw.

EDIT: Nevermind, I just realized that ranged weapons can't be both, so it doesn't matter about projectile or thrown (I'm not aware of any ranged weapon that is both).
