Yes, I know there is a Ctrl+Shift+F shortcut to open the search modal box. But using it is really not that efficient, for few reasons:
  • You still have to navigate to a particular topic by mouse after making a search.
  • The side navigation gets permanently filtered by search results until you manually clear the search filter - which is OK for standard search but not when you just want to quickly jump to a topic.
  • If you want to search for another term, you have to first delete the previous search query, then type a new one.

A simple solution: new keyboard shortcut for an actual quick search or "jump to article" function. If you press this key combination, let's say Ctrl+Shift+G (G like in "Go to"):
  1. You get a small modal box displayed, with only an empty input field and an empty list of topics below.
  2. When you start typing, you immediately see the topics appearing below - topics whom titles match your query.
  3. When you see the topic you want to jump to, you simply press down/up to select it and then press Enter to display it in the currently open tab.

That's it: no permanent articles filtering, no modifications to navigation menu - just quick and simple "find and display".

You could actually make this feature even more usable by adding an option to add the article if the searched content is not there. A user would simply select "Add {query string} as a new topic" and after the enter is pressed on that option selected he shall then select the category for this topic in the same exact manner as quick-searching for it. I.e. typing "ent" would mark the option "Entity" selected. You then press "Enter" et voila: you get your new topic created and opened in the current tab, ready for editing.

And all of that without even touching the mouse.

Legend has it, that the Tarrasque is a huge fighting beast, perpetually hungry.
Sleet entered History when he managed to get on the back of a Tarrasque only to be ridden out of History shortly after.

Using Realm Works, Worldographer (Hexographer 2), LibreOffice, Daz3D Studio, pen & paper for the realm World of Temeon and the system LEFD - both homebrewed.
