Perhaps I am missing a step, but my game portfolio is not updating after purchasing additional materials. To be specific, the events in order are:
1. Created and saved Shadowrun5e character X.
2. Bought access to 5e Supplement Flesh and Chrome
3. Character X's sheet does not have access to features from Flesh and Chrome.
4. New characters have access to Flesh and Chrome features, but old one do not.

Does this mean I have to completely recreate a character after any supplement purchase or is there a method I am missing?

If you add new packages to your license, the new sources aren't activated automatically for existing characters. You will need to manually turn on the new sources on the configure hero screen.

In addition you didn't list the "reactivate you license" after purchase step so that your computer talks to the LW servers.

When you open an existing character press "CTRL-K" to get to the "Configure Your Hero" screen to turn on the new book for your character.
