Was wondering if anyone is having any success running AB or ABCreator under WINE. I have been trying to get this working to use the software from my Mac, but have been experiencing issues in the GUI where the buttons and text are not showing up. Makes using the software a bit of a PITA.
Anyone know if there is a specific way to setup the app and WINE for this to work correctly. Wine: 1.1.42 AB: 3.2 The only "hobby" GW is interested in is lining their pockets with your money. |

This thread concerns getting Hero Lab to work under WINE - it might be useful:

Mathias,
Thanks for the response and yes I was aware of that thread also. I wasn't sure how much overlapping there was on the AB - HL interfaces though so I thought a separate thread may be beneficial. Also, I wasn't certain everyone using AB also used HL as well. As for that threat, I will be honest in that I did not read the entire thing yet. I did read the stuff on the WINE support site though and have read the last page in that thread and actually have the same issue as Duggan(Post #36). I wasn't able to do a lot of testing as the buttons in many cases were simply missing from the display, and while they where really still there, not knowing exactly their placement made clicking them hard. I will go back and read that thread in full though this evening to see if anything is said that may give me a chance at a different outcome than currently. Most of that thread though was dealing with the older versions of WINE however. The only "hobby" GW is interested in is lining their pockets with your money. |

It appears that the past issues with WINE under Linux have been resolved. However, there appear to still be issues with WINE on the Mac. We're actively pursuing an alternate Mac solution, but it's way too early to be able to give any specifics - and it could still blow up in our face, so it's not even a sure thing at this point.
