Will there be a way to add package deals or templates for the M&M data file?

I'm not sure what you mean by this; can you elaborate?

A pre-made collection of skills, feats, and powers that can be used to make a race for example, or a package for a profession.

This may have been answered in another thread, but is there going to be a way to add templates through the HL Editor? I've been adding templates via linked powers, but I'd like to be able to just click "LICH" and have the stats changed. I'd be willing to edit them in myself, but I just don't know how.

This has been suggested a number of times. To make a long story short, the internal data structures involved make this difficult to impossible to simply drop a power, minion, or other such template on a character. It would require a significant rewrite of code or possibly finding a way to record a series of commands into Hero Lab to replicate someone adding a given power to their character.

I have had some small success on my side copying and pasting parts of the XML structure of the portfolio, but it's very small successes and generally in moving powers around on the same character.

As wonderful as Hero Lab is, this is something that would multiply its usefulness tenfold. The ability to save out data structures like powers(collections of specific effects with specific modifiers) or minions or vehicles or equipment and then import them into other characters would be invaluable to me.

This is something I'll be looking into in January (along with being able to save and reload specific minions, devices, etc). No promises, but I'm hoping to be able to add it to Hero Lab soon.

(Apologies for committing thread necromancy here...)

I thought of a workaround for templates in M&M while Colen works works on a better solution to the problem.

Create a portfolio with characters in it that are just what's in the template. Then import the 'template' into another portfolio when needed. Customize the new character, and voila!

I thought of it while working on the 'Fearleaders' for my Ravensport game. While the Fearleaders' leaders will be customized, I wanted a generic one too.
