Making Equipment

Is there a way to make specialized equipment without having to use the whole character template? And save a copy of it?

Well, if you just need a simple placeholder you can use the "custom equipment" or the "Device as Equipment" option. The second is essentialy a set of powers payed using equipment points.
Otherwise you can use the editor to add new Equipment piece to the avaible options.
