I updated and now I can't use HL on my iPad. I keep getting this error:

Syntax error in 'eval' script for Thing 'cMPCHPsBd' (Eval Script '#1') on line 1
-> Tag 'WepProf.wMPCHPsBd' not defined
Syntax error in 'eval' script for Thing 'rcMPDPHamm' (Eval Script '#3') on line 1
-> Tag 'WepProf.wMPDPHamer' not defined
Syntax error in 'eval' script for Thing 'rcMPGrBioW' (Eval Script '#2') on line 1
-> Tag 'WepProf.wMPABioWGr' not defined
Syntax error in 'eval' script for Thing 'rcMPLBioWp' (Eval Script '#3') on line 1
-> Tag 'WepProf.wMPABioWLs' not defined

How do I fix this?

Have you tried updating again? There was an immediate 13.1 update.

You also need to update the Pathfinder Community Packs

I get these errors too, but on the PC platform, update 13.1 is already in use:

"
The data files could not be loaded due to errors. Hero Lab will now attempt to load them in recovery mode. Once loaded, you can access the editor as normal to correct any errors.

The following errors occurred:

Syntax error in 'eval' script for Thing 'cMPCHPsBd' (Eval Script '#1') on line 1
-> Tag 'WepProf.wMPCHPsBd' not defined
Syntax error in 'eval' script for Thing 'rcMPDPHamm' (Eval Script '#3') on line 1
-> Tag 'WepProf.wMPDPHamer' not defined
Syntax error in 'eval' script for Thing 'rcMPGrBioW' (Eval Script '#2') on line 1
-> Tag 'WepProf.wMPABioWGr' not defined
Syntax error in 'eval' script for Thing 'rcMPLBioWp' (Eval Script '#3') on line 1
-> Tag 'WepProf.wMPABioWLs' not defined
"

After loading old character portfolios I receive errors like:

"
Pick 'pMPFamKick' has been orphaned due to missing thing in batch '316'
Pick 'pMPClDmMdf' has been orphaned due to missing thing in batch '316'
Pick 'pMPFamKick' has been orphaned due to missing thing in batch '341'
Pick 'pMPClDmMdf' has been orphaned due to missing thing in batch '341'
"
or
"
Pick 'pMPFamKick' has been orphaned due to missing thing in batch '315'
Pick 'pMPClDmMdf' has been orphaned due to missing thing in batch '315'
"

Any ideas ?

I've done both updates (community pack and LW update to 13.1) and am not having any issues (fingers crossed, of course).

The update to the Community Pack for the above issue was released BEFORE LW's version 13+ was. Released on August 1st as version 1.3. This was announced here on the forums, LW's Facebook and LW's Google+ social media sites. In addition HL software will prompt you to download the 1.3 community Pack update as long as you have the secondary URL entered.

Because of real life issues I do not currently have the time to be on the forum personally answering every individual thread like I use to do. I would advise everyone to watch ONE of the above places for important announcements in the future. You could even set the Community Pack thread to email you each new post to make sure you stay up to date.

Just a note for others, you may not be prompted to install the community pack -- after my 13.1 update, the "Manage third-party updates" option in the Tools told me I did not have any third-party updates installed at all. When I checked, the URLs defining where to get those sources were also gone.

Basically, something about the update wiped out all my third party stuff and then I got weird errors about not having an XP cost mechanics. But when I re-added the URLs for the sources and reinstalled, everything started working again.

So if you're not getting prompted to update your Pathfinder pack -- check to see if Hero Lab still has it installed.

Just asking for info. Did you uninstall or re-install Hero Lab? Or install the HL Beta and then uninstall that?

The HL software has two sides the binary exe V7.6b which controls things like the addons and the URL for the Third Party Updates. Then you have the game software (ie Pathfinder) running v13.1. Its hard to see how the game system update could do anything to the exe binary program settings.

In the past what I have seen is many people get any error starting Pathfinder so they uninstall Hero Lab and re-install. Which only removes the binary exe software leaving the game software alone. They reinstall HL and get the same error because the game software is the same and "it" has the issue. Then they forget to re-enter the URL data for the community Pack and never get notified about updates.

My advice is don't uninstall and reinstall HL software. In 99% of the cases it never fixes anything.

If the Pathfinder v13.1 update is really removing the Third Party URL that will really suck!
