I want to make a different version of an item, but was trying to figure out if you can patch an item rather than preclude it.
I had thought I had seen something about this on here, but can not find the post at all. For example in my campaign I have different prices for ceratin weapons, rather than remake each weapon, I just want to be able to patch them. Current Games: 5E Homebrew - DM Recent Games: Shadowrun 5E - GM Pathfinder Homebrew - DM Curse of Strahd 5E - Player My HL Files - Birthright, Creatures, and items Birthright Setting and D20Despot Let me know if it breaks. |

That sounds more like you want replace than preclude.
Current RPG's: Pathfinder (GM), Pathfinder (Player), Gamma World (GM, Pathfinder homebrew). HeroLab: 3.5 & Pathfinder. HL User Files for PF: Greyhawk Setting, Gamma World (WIP). DM and player of D&D since 1980. |

I want to modified version to "Replace" the original, without causing issue for people that might be missing a book in Hero Lab. A couple players do not have the same books as me and if I am precluding the original vs my version that might think it requires another book, it might cause problems.
I also want to make sure the original is still available if the source I am working with is not selected. If that is the way replace works I just need to actually get an example of it in the works to get a better feel for it.
