I'm having a problem with one of my player's Karma expenditures.

Essentially, he's purchasing a rating 3 Activesoft and want's to emulate it as a Complex Form, and then learn said CF permanently. He has the BioWire Echo and is Submersion grade 3

Per the book, He first needs to Emulate the CF at the appropriate level by Threading it first (no problem, he can damned near buy the hits). it then says that he can purchase the CF permanently by paying Rating in Karma (+1 per option/option rating).

Let's say he's buying Gunnery 3. I go into the Advancement tab and chose Add New Advancement > Gain a new Complex Form.

I select Activesoft and chose Gunnery as the Skill (we'll leave out the Personalization option he wanted to make this easier).

Gunnery 1 is added.... There seems to be no place to put the rating as a 3.

Furthermore, when I at first said, "Okay, let's add levels, that might work" to the Gunnery by Increasing the CF via the advancement tab, it tells me that I must pick a skill....

Okay... I pick gunnery (we're at 4 Karma now, btw).
I do it once more for Gunnery 3 figuring, We'll just refund him the kama via the Journal tab.

I print off his sheet... It says Gunnery 1 Activesoft, Gunnery 1 Activesoft and Gunnery 3 activesoft...

Huh?

What did I miss? how do I put Activesoft - Gunnery as a CF on his sheet at level 3 and have it print off as Gunnery 3 and only cost 3 Karma.

I'm at a loss.

I'm thinking this might be a bug. But I am not 100 percent sure. There should be a stickied thread at the top of the Shadowrun forum for bug reports.

RavenX Pronouns: She/Her

Please do not PM me to inquire about datafiles I coded "for personal use" such as Exalted, World of Darkness, AD&D, or Warhammer 40K Roleplaying. I appreciate your interest, but I do not own the Intellectual Property rights to these game systems. Nor do I have permission from any of the Publishers to distribute the data files. As such, I cannot distribute the work I have done with community on these files. They are "for personal use" only. Thank you.

I am far too busy these days to answer emails. If you message me here there is no guarantee I will get back to you at all.

When adding the increases, do not choose a skill - only choose a skill one time, when you're adding the new complex form.

Program options can be added on the Resonance tab, once you've added the complex form.

We'd really appreciate it if everyone would report bugs using the link in the stickied thread in this forum. I'm very sorry about missing this thread. The first time I saw it was on a busy day for me, so I didn't have the time to investigate the issue at that point, and then I forgot to come back to it. Having all the bug reports in a single location makes it easier to keep them organized and make sure I'm handling all of them in a reasonable time span.
