I notice that you can put two different types of unit in the same squad.
This is correct if you put a Hero to lead a unit... but not, for example, if you mix Errant Knights and Men-at-arms! Also, war machines, chariots and monsters are a 1-model unit, therefore the user couldn't put more than one in a squad. I don't know if this is related to an AB bug or to an armylist bug. |

Unfortunately there isn't much to be done about this except writing rules that provide warnings when you do it...Tat would probably be quite a lot of work since it would involve giving every unit in the game one of two tags unit or character, and then writing rules that prohibit more then one "unit" unit in a squad...then further refining it to exclude detachments...
Unfortunately this has to do with the way AB 3.0 is set up...You either have squads (and all that goes with them) or you don't...no half measures... |

I don't think this can actually even be considered a bug since some people might like to organize their list differently e.g. all mounted units into one squad and name it "cavalry" and so on. I think the files work fine for this part right now.

Understandable WKC...I've been working with this since the begining of the Beta tests...It was an active desision to program like this...
Incidentally I hadn't even concidered doind something like what GMT suggested...it sounds good to me...I might actually switch to that myself... |

squads are really for user convenience i think... if you want you could put all your war machines plus the unit that defends them in one squad. or not use them at all. it is all up to the user! :-)
