He looks like a smith, or retired adventurer, turned bar/innkeep

He's definitely the village chief or leader of a band of mercenaries. From his pose, he should be someone who is doing some negotiating with the PCs - wether as quest giver or owner of something the PCs want.

Perhaps he could be introduced running back into the village having returned from a fierce fight defending the mouth of the cave. Turn the first combat encounter into a push them back and follow them in scenario.

Looks like Vampires are going to be moving a sect into the dungeon based on the results of the current survey!

If vampires aren't your thing... you need to vote!

Good evening all,

Round #2 of the Barbarian Village is now ready for scrutiny. The village has grown in size and population. There's now farm-land and a paddock for the horses. There's a few big buildings that need labelling. The cave entrance is now included with some defensive positions.

Please provide feedback. Do we need any more structures, features, etc.

It's a 5"x5" grid.

Had some time to do a 2nd NPC image.

This is something to encounter and is an enemy. Pretty easy to figure out what this is or is it so is it.

So is she a low level demon/devil, a major demon/devil, some sort of vampire queen (a little stretch with the horns), the reason most good alignment characters turn evil (LOL), or something else?

I wasn't too happy with the way the way this image came out.

Any comments are welcomed.

Looks like we have a clear winner - a Vampire cult has just moved into the cave. Using it's significant history of the land they are preparing to move against the living folk. The dungeon is a defense system designed to keep adventurers from stumbling onto their plans.

I'd consider changing the background color. The current color does nothing for the images contrast. Black might be best or a charcoal maybe. Anyway I'd switch up the background to see if anything works better before messing with the vampire/demon. The blade of the weapon in her hand seems to suffer the most from the close color matching with the background.

Thanks,

This is it with out the sepia tone added in.

How does it look as a just black and white style image?
