1. When printing, it would be nice if I could specify a little bit of extra
left margin to make room for a 3 hole punch. Also
left/right margin if two sided printing is going to be involved.

2. Pressing a letter normally takes you to next item in list beginning with
the letter. I would like to see two enhancments.
a: Allow search to loop (or scan backwards if a modifier key is held
down).
b: If additional characters are pressed within a certain time frame,
use that to search for the start of a word.

3: Now that I think about it just now, a name search box attached to each
card list would be useful.
3b: And an advanced search feature. Would look just like the filter box,
but wouldn't actually filter, just go to next
card that fulfilled requirements. Would need a repeat last search
feature also.

4: Any chance of getting those inventory style imbedded inc/dec buttons in
deck construction?

5: 0 should be a legal quantity for a number of cards in a deck, with an
option to purge all entries with a 0
count when deck is finished.

6: When printing an inventory, etc. it would be nice if you could add a
comment to get printed with the header.

7. When a card triggers a deck invalidation, I would like to get a list of
the specific cards responsible (if it is something
last can be blamed on a specific card).

I'll add my support to that idea.

The facility to drop the count to 0 rather than remove the card from the
deck would be most useful when trying to balnce a deck to a limit. Useful
for those card that you really want to put in but are struggling to make
room for.

you can, just click the little red diamond in the extreme lower left corner.

I'd like to see the offending card(s) highlighted in the deck list
(shown in red).

Now logged on the todo list for inclusion in a future release.

Added to todo list.

What key would you recommend? The <ctrl> and <alt> keys are already used
for standard stuff. The <shift> key would be counter-intuitive. What else
does that leave?

The quick search mechanism is provided for this type of operation. We've
got a number of enhancements to that mechanism already on the todo list.

If I understand correctly, this is already provided with the quick search
mechanism.

>3b: And an advanced search feature. Would look just like the filter box,

I'm going to need to hear additional support for this before adding it to
the todo list. It seems somewhat redundant and would easily foster
confusion between users who get the filter and search mechanisms intertwined.

>Would need a repeat last search

This is already provided by the quick search mechanism.

>4: Any chance of getting those inventory style imbedded inc/dec buttons in

There are already the +/- buttons. What value does this redundancy add? It
definitely increases the column width and chews up extra horizontal space,
which seems like a negative to me.

This is already on the todo list. It hasn't been added yet, since I'm still
concerned this will be confusing to some users. Comments???

Added to the todo list.

Click on the validation asterisk for full details on the errors. Cards that
break "card rules" have the card identified. Deck rules do not have this info.

Well, in LofR, when adding a banned card to my deck in standard format, it
isn't telling me what card was banned.
Is this a problem with the LotR databases?

I can see your point about being potentially confusing. How about
making card counts of zero a deck validation issue? That way Card Vault
would warn the user that they have some decisions left to make. There are
two ways to handle saving -- always remove 0 counts or ask to remove the 0
counts. Probably would have an affect on printing and deck inventory as
well.

The way in which banned cards are handled is completely up to the data file
author. Rules can be written on a "card" level or a "deck" level. Card
rules report the offending card automatically, while deck rules do not have
such information. If no card is specified in the validation message, then
the rule is a deck rule. If you want this changed, you'll have to petition
the data file author. Usually, there is a reason a rule is written one way
or the other, so it may not be something the author can readily change.

Thanks, Rob

Is the card banned in Standard format? I have not had a chance to play much
LotR since TT came out, but I thought that only one of the tournament formats
had banned cards...
