Error with adding mounts for a Ranger

If I add a mount (Heavy Warhorse) to a 4th level Ranger HL complains (gives validation errors) that I have unspent skill points for the newly added mount.

HL version: 3.4a
Pathfinder version: 1.2

Mounts and everything else on the "Other" tab are on the list, but not a priority.
