A merry greeting to all the HL users and developers out there!
Just a few weeks ago, I purchased HL (licensed for World of Darkness initially) and have been testing it out and such, especially now that the Mutants & Masterminds files have come out (license on that to be purchased soon, guaranteed). But there's some questions I have in regards to this very nice and innovative program (don't know any other character creation program that can allow for multiple, especially very different, RPGs). Being a fan of Werewolf the Forsaken, and to some degree the other World of Darkness games, as well as the Serenity RPG (and the Cortex system), I'm wondering if a kind dev might be willing to share insight on the progress of these sets? I was also wondering if I needed to purchase a license for a set to access the M&M help files for the editor. And on the subject, sort of, can we expect in the somewhat near future we can expect to see Ultimate Powers and Mastermind's Manual included? Thanks! P.S.: Love HL so far! It's obvious there's been a lot of work put into it's design and implementation. |

what I heard on other WoD games is that changeling and mage are next, followed by wolf if people want it.
You could probably make a few edits to the requiem stuff and make those games work as is, but you'd better get real friendly with the editor. |

http://support.wolflair.com/index.ph...ewtopic&t=7920 had a note from Colen that the authoring kit documentation had accidently been left out of 2.1a (and a link to download it), but would be in 2.1b. I don't know if that's the answer you were looking for about the help files.

Thanks for the compliments. :-) To my knowledge, there is no other program out there that can adapt to all the different RPGs. A lot of work went into devising HL to achieve that. We're finally now able to start reaping the benefits of all that hard work. :-) > Being a fan of Werewolf the Forsaken, and to some degree the other > World of Darkness games, as well as the Serenity RPG (and the Cortex > system), I'm wondering if a kind dev might be willing to share > insight on the progress of these sets? The next setting for WoD will be Changeling. The target is GenCon, but I'm not sure we'll make it in time. WtF is a candidate after that, but nothing has been decided yet with White Wolf. The Cortex line, including Serenity, should be out this fall. > I was also wondering if I needed to purchase a license for a set to > access the M&M help files for the editor. Absolutely not. You can fully experiment with adding your own custom material for any game system before purchasing. Load up the M&M files in demo mode, then launch the Editor. Within the Editor, click on the Help option on the menu. This will bring up all the Editor documentation for M&M within your web browser. > And on the subject, sort of, can we expect in the somewhat near > future we can expect to see Ultimate Powers and Mastermind's Manual > included? We'd like to get those done before GenCon, but I don't think that's realistic. My best guess is the August/September timeframe for UP/MM. |

Thank you all for the answers, particularly you, Rob. Purchased and loving the M&M set in it's fullest. Now that the editor has it's help files, easy to figure out how to enter in some powers while waiting on the UP/MM set. Looking forward to the other desired data sets, buuuuut this will keep me busy for quite awhile in the meantime (perhaps longer).
