For those of you wondering what's next from here, I figured I would
give you some of the basics before all the questions start coming. There are three primary areas where we'll be focusing in the months to come. First of all, the V2.0 release is just the beginning of what we've got planned in terms of functionality. We've already put extensive mechanisms into place beneath the hood that haven't been exposed yet and will be leveraged by new features we've already mapped out. There are some major components for campaign support that we'll be adding in the months to come. Second is the long anticipated public release of the Authoring Kit. Part of the past few months has been spent refining authoring mechanisms and replacing internal components with new ones that make the authoring process much more streamlined. We've identified quite a few more that weren't critical to include in V2.0, and those will be addressed in the upcoming weeks. We're working on the Kit documentation now, along with a walk-through of creating data files for a sample game system from scratch. We're striving to have the Kit in proper Beta testing in May. With a little luck, it will find it's way to a wider audience over the summer. Last, but certainly not least, we'll be adding support for new licensed game systems. That also includes support for products like the new Pathfinder RPG from Paizo. It further includes D&D 4th Edition, provided that Wizards actually makes the GSL available in time for it to still be viable for us to pursue. Now that HL2.0 is out, our top priority for HL is getting the Mutants & Masterminds data files out the door. Please don't ask for more details on any of the above items yet, as there are no more details to provide. We're exhausted from the push to get V2.0 out and need to recharge a little before we map out concrete plans for the next few months. But the above three paragraphs ought to provide you with a general idea of where we'll be heading over the course of 2008. May the dice be with you.... -Rob --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rob Bowes (rob@wolflair.com) (408) 927-9880 Lone Wolf Development www.wolflair.com |
