I'm trying to add a new animal companion to my 5th lvl ranger. I am using the Beast Master Archetype from the Advanced Players Guide.

It says "The beast master may have more than one animal companion, but he must divide up his effective druid level between his companions to determine the abilities of each companion." (pg 124 APG)

Being a 5th lvl ranger I should have an effective druid lvl 2. This should allow me to make a new companion on top of the one I already have. Hero Labs doesn't seem to give me that option, and keeps dumping my lvls into the original animal companion. Anybody have any ideas?

Note: the ability to take more than one animal companion has not been implemented yet.

I imagine it is difficult to do, and as there is only one instance where it is needed (or maybe a few others but rare) I think it is unlikely to be done soon.
