So first let me say, that I love the new version of Army Builder 3.3 and the ability I have to stumble through the XSL and create my own output...
I have spent the better part of the day banging around creating my own version of the 3x3... the problem I am having with not only my version but the supplied version is the "Child Unit" when building out Space Wolf Guards, The recursive xsl creates a child for each unique Wolf Guard. which in turn extended beyond the limit of the 2.9in unit card space... I know I can extend the space of the card so that this information is visible but that in essence no longer makes it a 3x3 card... any thoughts or suggestions? |

It's kinda one of the problems with 3x3 cards, isn't it? If you want a 3x3 card, you only have limited space to work with. So first you need to decide what to do with really long units like that; I couldn't come up with a good default, so my solution was to simply cap them at the size of a 3x3 card.
Can you think of any better ways to handle it? If you're making a 40k-specific output type, it's possible that, for example, units like the Wolf Guard could be hard-coded to behave differently so they wouldn't overrun the space provided. |
