Hello all,
I had to format my hard drive and lost my secondary license key. I see Windows7 made a back up of old files and was wondering if my old license key was still in that old HL folder someplace. Where would I go to see if I indeed still have it someplace?
I have tried to copy and paste the old Hero doc folder to the new HL running in Demo mode, but no love.

Suggestions?

License menu...Send My Licenses to Me is how you can get your license numbers.

Thank you, but that would only work for the primary person and not the secondary person whose email address does not match what HL has on file.
If someone knows where the license key is stored on the computer I may be able to retrieve it myself.

Hero Lab's license agreement does not allow you to provide your license numbers to others, so if you're using a secondary license you've gotten from someone else, they're in violation of their license agreement.

Well, guess I will have to buy it again. It was a shared purchase with my brother who is elsewhere.

As Mathias says, I'm afraid this is not allowed by our license agreement. We ran into a great example of why not to do this last week - someone had shared their Hero Lab license number with a friend, who had then changed the email address associated with the license, meaning the original purchaser couldn't use the license any more! That's not the only reason, but that's definitely *a* reason we require that you don't share your license with friends.
