If you want to get the data, I will be happy to add it. I did not get it from
AEG, so it is not in the data files... As for starters, I only worry about cards that are MRP'ed in a starter. Any others I have not tracked. Do you think I should? If they are not changed, they are basically just a reprint. If there are any MRPed cards you know of that I have not included, then please let me know! --- Edward Bolme <edward@bolme.com> wrote: > Are you folks planning on including base set cards that were reprinted in > starters (like the resilient Small Farm)? > > What about the Clan War Saga foils? I HAD been planning on tracking all iterations of a card even if it
was reprinted, counting on Card Vaults "Merge Duplicate Cards" to collapse them all down. I actually like to keep track of how many Imperial Small Farms I have versus how many Emerald, Obsidian, Jade, Gold, etc. I DON'T count (for now at least) something like a Small Farm reprinted in Hidden Emperor starter deck, just the core base sets. So for the sets I was going to do, Imperial through Spirit Wars, I was going to include those. Keep in mind many of these 'base set' cards also had differing flavor text and AEG like(s)(d) to sprinkle flavor text that told the story throughout the cards. SO tracking them just for flavor text changes seems important to some people I bet. I don't know what I'll do yet for things like Hidden Emperor Small Farms with flavor text not reprinted in any 'base' set. I'm not going to try (at first) to track the variant cards like foils and the such and don't plan on adding Notes for cards right away either for the work I'm doing. I'd rather get the cards that were printed with the wording as they were printed in first for all the sets and THEN worry about getting all the odds and ends like promos and variants or rulings or MRPs. Or someone else could do those, whatever. First, I'll see how Spirit Wars goes and then I'll know what kind of task I'm actually facing to get everything in. Are you folks planning on including base set cards that were reprinted in
starters (like the resilient Small Farm)? What about the Clan War Saga foils? Gold-border promo reprints? Etc? I can certainly help with gathering that data up. |

Fair enough... but since I have only done Gold plus expansions, it was not a problem > So for the sets I was going to do, Imperial through Spirit Wars, I > was going to include those. For Imperial, Emerald, Jade, and Obsidian, I agree. For the expansions sets I don't see the point unless it has been reprinted. I suppose I should, but I have no data on what is in many of the starter boxes, making this rather difficult. > Keep in mind many of these 'base set' > cards also had differing flavor text and AEG like(s)(d) to sprinkle > flavor text that told the story throughout the cards. However, that would meet my "MRPed" criteria, so I will include them... but I frankly don't know what many of them are! I have some starters in a box somewhere, I will have to see what I can find. > I'm not going to try (at first) to track the variant cards like foils > and the such and don't plan on adding Notes for cards right away > either for the work I'm doing. That is certainly how I did it with the Gold stuff. It is better to get the framework in, and then you can worry about adding MRP and all that. Many MRP issues will be overrules by Gold Edition anyway > First, I'll see how Spirit Wars goes and then I'll know what kind of > task I'm actually facing to get everything in. Spirit Wars is *done*. Work on the one before that. ===== --- Kuni Tetsu Clan War rules guy Moderator of ClanWar-l __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail Plus - Powerful. Affordable. I personally, cared, but only vis-a-vis getting Gold Edition versions of all teh cards, so i coudl cycle out the uglier old-fashioned kind. I would probably also consider making teh CWS foils a separate release. |

Ok, that would be Soul of The Empire and Storms over Matsu Palace,
according to what I have the order in. That sound good? Doc > Spirit Wars is *done*. I have a question: does Storms over Matsu Palace count as valid cards for tournaments? I know that a recent "Teach a friend L5R" set was printed with cards that are changed from the standard versions, but do *not* count as MRP of GE cards because it is an introductory set. I was wondering if the same applied to SoMP. ===== --- Kuni Tetsu Clan War rules guy Moderator of ClanWar-l __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! I know which "teach your friend to play" set you are talking about,
much like Magic the Gathering's Portal edition cards, but I am pretty sure "Storms over Matsu Palace" is like "Battle at Beiden Pass" in that while they are pre-constructed decks, the cards are all legitimate, normal L5R tournament worthy cards. But I'll check to make sure. SoMP and SoSM are both considered not be to MRPs (what a yucky sentence).
Some of the more esoteric abiliities were removed or simplified for learning's sake. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kuni Tetsu" <kuni_tetsu@yahoo.com> To: cv@support.wolflair.com Sent: Wednesday, December 04, 2002 6:10 AM Subject: Re: [CardVault] Re: L5R > > --- doc_savage_2001 <doc_savage_2001@yahoo.com> wrote: > > Ok, that would be Soul of The Empire and Storms over Matsu Palace, > > according to what I have the order in. Most Recently Printed...
For card games where you might have the same card, let's say one called "Ambush" in many different sets and the wording gets changed on the card in the newest release, then ALL cards ever printed called "Ambush" are considered to have the wording of the Most Recently Printed version, so that all your old copies are not obsolete and can still be used for tournament purposes.
