I am trying to figure out how to tackle adding a custom ability to the table, like Wizard Specialization school, where the user is presented a list of options and gets to choose one of the options presented.

Please do not PM me to inquire about datafiles I coded "for personal use" such as Exalted, World of Darkness, AD&D, or Warhammer 40K Roleplaying. I appreciate your interest, but I do not own the Intellectual Property rights to these game systems. Nor do I have permission from any of the Publishers to distribute the data files. As such, I cannot distribute the work I have done with community on these files. They are "for personal use" only. Thank you.

I am far too busy these days to answer emails. If you message me here there is no guarantee I will get back to you at all.

Look back at the original thread I linked you to for agents - study the second code example in that.

Mathias,

Can a <thing> have useagent= in it? or is it just <table_whatever> and a <template> that are allowed to use that feature?

The agent linkage is set up by the table.

The same <thing> could be added to many different tables, and will have a different linkage[table] depending on which one it's added to. That way, whenever you have an archetype that uses the Rogue Talents, you don't need to re-write all of them for this new class/archetype combination - you just add them to the new class, and the linkage[table] allows them to pull information from that class, same as they would when pulling information from the Rogue class.

Does the agent linkage work on a fixed table?

No, dynamic tables only.

So how would I set up a fixed table to display class specials that are bootstrapped to a character?

Sorry, I was incorrect - one agent setting is available to fixed tables: agentlist.

In Pathfinder's class special table:

agentlist="SpecSource"

Thank you, Mathias, I thought there had to be something since I couldn't set a table inside a template.

Mathias,

Is the part in the quotes in the pick context, thing context, or the agent linkage?
