I am now around 50% done with the DMG.
Despite the recent news I decided to finish my own implementation (Well, not THAT much still needing to be done, actually). If the OGL arrives, I will make it available, as promised (I checked back with Liz by email and was told Lone Wolf have no problem with that, actually I was told about the announcement a bit earlier). Like Lone Wolf "assuming the OGL is in a form that will allow publishing of the files". As Liz pointed out to me, my implementation will require that you have the Authoring Kit. Different to Lone Wolf I won't be interested in including stuff from 3rd party companies. My implementation will support the PHB and the DMG, and possibly other WotC-Content my own local group will use for play. Reasons are both time-constraints and that I like to keep datafiles free of "clutter" (but I am sure Lone Wolf will do an implementation with all 3rd party stuff, after their recent announcement). Freakin' sweet. maybe now we can take our game to the next level with 5e. BTW, i have a level 2 human Barbarian for 5th and i really love how much better this system is compared to 3.5 and 4. And reading about getting support for it just makes me squeal like a 7th grader.
Just a thought, maybe support could be done in the Encounter Builder for Horde of the Dragon Queen and Rise of Tiamat. just an idea though. but that would be so much easier to handle than flipping through the damned books. just sayin' |

Great news. Hopefully it won't be too long.
BTW MagicSN. I have the Authoring Kit. So, if you need anyone to playtest it, I'll gladly volunteer - assuming it doesn't break any rules, of course. |

Still nothing on the Wizards front regarding this. It appears we are on Wizards Time which is like the reverse of Doggy Years!

ToyFair is in two weeks. After that its either the convention circuit or Origins. I can never figure where WotC thinks they fit in best.

Still no word?
This is sad on so many levels. WotC could have a working support in a very short time if they just worked with Lone Wolf. |

Also the question would be if it is enough to remove stuff from the GUI and it is still in the datafiles (I fear not enough, though). Still, better than nothing. |
