Delete the files from the WF8 folder and try again.

This is odd. Two people getting error means it's not an isolated problem, but I know the file works for most people. I haven't done any modifications to the Beastman file in ages, it is only choosing that file because it is first. So, what could it be? I am stumped, as it works fine on both my machines. Let me try something....

Nope.
Did a fresh install of AB and upgraded to 3.4a ver and have no other game system files for AB. Still getting "The data files could not be loaded due to the following errors: File: beastmen.aug (line 1) - Document does not posess a valid structure" Clean install with no previous versions or alternate game systems would seem to indicate the new version is the issue. |

Yobtar or Angelica (or anyone else with this problem), can you please email me the beastmen.aug file to colen@wolflair.com so I can take a look at it?
You can find the file by doing the following: 1) Load any game system in Army Builder (for example, the Example Game System) 2) Go to Tools -> Explore Folders -> Program Data Folder 3) An Explorer window will open. Switch to the "data" folder within it, then the "wh8" folder within that. 4) The "beastmen.aug" file will be in that folder. Thanks for your help! Also, what version of Army Builder are you running into the problem with? |

Just to share:
Loading in a High Elf list shows changes to available lores for any mage, whether new list or older saved list. Lore options show as Life, Shadow, Death or High. High Elves are supposed to have access to all 8 lores as well High lore. Attempted to load High Elf files from backup, same issue. Appears to be bug with game file. |

Can I just get a straw poll on whether this file is working or not for people? I'm really having a hard time replicating this problem!
ETA and please state what version of AB you are running. If you can keep your head while all about you are loosing their's, then you have probably completely misunderstood the situation. Colen I will email you the file but I have just found a (possible) solution.
Just downloaded the file using IE and installed the file. It worked without beastman.aug bug. Then went and downloaded the same file using Firefox and lo and behold the bug reappears! I have been using Firefox in the past for all updates and havent had an issue that was browser related. Just thought u should know. EDIT:Just went and used IE9 to redownload and install 2.48 again and it worked without issue. Seems there IS a browser issue. Going to email colen the file i get when i use Firefox. Edit2: Actually it wont let me email the Firefox file as it is empty in the wh8 file. 0 kb. Which might be the issue altogether. The IE9 downloaded beastman.aug file has 4kb. Think for sure I found the issue. NOW FIX IT!!.....lol Last edited by Yobtar; October 30th, 2012 at 03:48 AM. |
