I have a Monk character in my current campaign, who uses a Sling as a backup ranged weapon. The character also has a Ki Focus (no bonus, just the basic implement).
When I go to the Special tab, and assign the Sling as equipped, a large number of the Monk powers (Dragon's Tail, Five Storms, Open the Gate of Battle, Twin Thunders, Masterful Spiral, so far up to 3rd level) will note that the Sling is equipped for that power. Which makes no sense to me, unless the Sling is being treated as an implement. Also, I can see when both the Sling and Ki Focus are equipped, those powers list two statlines, one for each object. Has anyone run into this problem? Is there a way to fix it in the Editor? |

Hmm, it looks like the Sling is being treated as an implement for some reason. I'm not sure why that's happening - I'll put it on our bug list to look at. Thanks for the report!

Monks can use any weapons that they are proficient with as implements, which includes slings. ( Wizard's character builder even allows them to use staff implements since they are proficient with quarterstaffs, though the rules on that are a bit unclear. ) I actually had the opposite problem with shuriken's such as the quicksilver shuriken that my monk uses not being counted as an implement and having to put a place holder of a quicksilver dagger instead.

Nice catch, Daphne Pfister! In fact, the monk gets almost no weapon-based powers, unless you wander into a particular paragon path or something. We definitely don't want this bug "fixed"
