Hero Labs Online Help

Yes, if you want to use HLO (beyond what the Demo lets you do) then you need to purchase it and whichever game systems or other materials you want to use with it. Your desktop Hero Lab purchases have nothing to do with HLO.

Well, eventually when (if) games are on both HLC & HLO, the content you've purchased will be available on both.

I'm only concerned with what's available at the present time. We'll cross that bridge (and learn the toll for doing so) if/when it happens.

If you already have Starfinder, HLO for Playtest is currently free. I don't know if it's free if you haven't purchased Starfinder, but I'm thinking so. If you only want to use Pathfinder Playtest, you should not currently have to purchase any online material or access.

Strange. I had to purchase the playtest before I could use it. Maybe I missed something? Regardless, I'll likely be using PF2E when the playtest completes, if only for organized play, so the automatic conversion into the release version of the rules justifies the purchase.

It's not free; you're limited to what the Demo version of HLO allows you to do. (Notably, you can only have one level on your character.)

Hi.

I'm trying to try out the playtest demo, and it's saying I should log in with my current account. I have only HL Classic for pathfinder and it won't let me log in with it. Says my account doesn't exist.

Do I need to create a new account?

How does it work?

Yes, you will need to login with your Realm Works account (if you have one) or create a new account. HLO accounts are not connected to your HLC account. Hope this helps.

I don't have realmworks so I'll go ahead and create a new account then :)

Within HLClassic, we have always provided a "demo mode" for taking game systems for a test drive. We've done the exact same thing with HLOnline, with the following two items for clarification:

All use of HLOnline requires an account. That's how we say your characters for you. You can create a FREE account to access all game systems in "demo mode".

When you purchase a game within HLO, all other games you don't yet own operate in "demo mode". So you can readily take a new game for a test drive from within your existing account.

Rob, thanks for the explanation. I hadn't noticed the demo mode moniker yet, but only did a little testing over the weekend. If one buys the playtest version, will that carry over to final version? Or will that be another charge? Just wondering for future reference.

From the HLO Product page: "Even better, when Pathfinder 2nd edition for Hero Lab Online goes live you'll be automatically upgraded to the new edition free of charge!"

Yeah, thanks Shadow. Saw that right after I posted. Sheesh! Gotta read faster....these old eyes can't keep up.

I can't seem to find the Monk Handwraps of mighty fists as a weapon or magic item to purchase. Can someone tell me where to get them or is this feature not yet implemented?

Higher level and more complex magic items where skipped to try and get the playtest out for GenCon. They should show up in a future patch here soon. :)

A lot more stuff will be appearing in a release early next week. We considered putting something out tomorrow, but we opted for caution. :)
