I would like to suggest adding a mechanism for defining in advance what parts of the map are revealed as the party progresses. I am thinking about situations where there are adjacent hallways or rooms, and the broad reveal brushes will show things the players can't see, but the narrow brushes will take too long to use without tipping off the players that I'm hiding something.

I wonder if the feature could be implemented with masks as player-visible objects on the smart image, and you "unreveal" the object to reveal the dungeon underneath.

It sounds like you're expecting the players to see what you're doing real-time. They won't, unless you're projecting your screen for them.. in which case, nothing will be masked. You can take as much time as you want to carve out just what you want them to see, and smooth any lines, etc. They don't see anything until you save the changes.
