In some instances when I sort names (eg Game of Thrones) I find that cards
whose names start with A or The are sorted as though those words don't exist.

If this a datafile setting? A CV thing? If datafile, quick advice on what
to alter would be

I personally sort my cards by the whole name on the card, and I'd like CV
to do likewise for me!

This is controlled by the "Use Library Sort" option in the Settings menu.
If enabled, it disregards all non-alphanumeric characters, and chops "A"
and "The" and such off the start of the card name. It's a user-controlled
setting, so you can set it as you personally prefer.

Hmm, what if I want a 1/2 Library Sort? I want the non-alpha characters
ignored,
but not the "A and "The". Is this possible?

Thanks,

R.

It's called Library sort.. Under the settings menu it's the 4th option down.

Take a couple of minutes and skim through the Users Guide.
