Newbie question on Meta magic

How does one prepare the spell with the appropriate meta magic feat?

Click on the 'Add Level X spells' area at the bottom of whatever class tab you're preparing spells for. Choose the uppermost option in the list, -Custom / Metamagic Spell-. A new window should open; select the spell from the Choose Spell drop-down, then add any appropriate metamagic options via the area below. When done click Add and it should show up in your list of prepared spells.
