This is a public information email.

*) Army Builder 2.0d has been released. This fixes some bugs in
2.0c, 2.0b, 2.0a and the mysterious 2.0 itself. Best download it ASAP if
you haven't already, methinks!

*) Rob, clever programmer chap that he is, has devised a scheme for
datafile authors to automatically update their datafiles held on the
Wolflair web site. This means several things.

Starting soon, all "approved" datafiles that I manage - VOID,
Clan War, etc. - will be held just on www.wolflair.com. This includes
basically everything not written by Games Workshop. The folders in the
ab-files egroup will hold links to the wolflair web site, because it's
boring having to upload the files twice.

All GW files will still be held in the same place. However, I'll
update the wolflair datafile page whenever I bring out new ones. This is
all fine and good, but becomes more amusing when combined with the next
paragraph.

AB 2.0d can be set to check for updates to it's datafiles
automatically, or you can do it yourself - to activate or disable
automatic checking, use the menu item at the bottom of the 'Settings'
menu. To see what updates are available (or to trigger a check for them,
if you're on the internet) click the text at the top-right, on the menu
bar. It may take a minute or so to download the data, but when it does
it will change to "NEW UPDATES" - click again and it shows you a list of
all new or updated game systems, for you to choose from. This will
include all GW and non-GW games that there are files available for.

This means that there's now an alternative way of finding out
whenever new datafiles are released. If you're tired of people sending
you odd emails from this list and want to use Army Builder's built in
update checking, then activate it (as above) and send an email to:

ab-files-unsubscribe@egroups.com

If, on the other hand, you don't mind receiving sarcastic emails
from me every few weeks, by all means stay on the list. See you all
later...

Ok, so does this now mean a that the archive I have for the datafiles will
now be no longer accessible from Rob's site?

If so, let me know, because I get about 1000 hits a week and will need to
either delete the whole site now since you will make it redundant, or figure
out how to maintain the link.

BTW...thanks for the heads up about the datafiles...waste of my time
updating my webpages if you are the only source now for the datafiles
now...*sigh*
