I am trying to make a half-dragon that is a half-primal dragon (Crystal) from Bestiary 2 the template only supports the base Chromatic/Metallic dragon types. How can I get Hero-Lab to allow me to use the template with a Crystal dragon? I would just use the closets approximation, but Crystal dragons are the only one's with a sonic breath weapon, so that doesn't quite work.

There is an option to edit the field when I right click on it, but its greyed out, I assume because its a purchased data-set and therefore locked to prevent tampering.

You could create a new template in the editor that would have all the fields that you want. Basically to customize it to what you need.

Sounds like you need to make a New (Copy) of the half-dragon template and modify it to allow more dragon types to be used.

Looking for an update to this posting by Scibat
For my first anniversary of retiring from working,my DM may have a one-off game for us and I have decided to play a crystal half dragon if we do, and my searches led me to this posting

Hi All,

One possibility we discussed was a high level one-off game for June. As promised, here are some outline rules for characters for that game (Should we decide to play it).

1. 19th level.
2. 25 point build
3. Unlimited starting cash
4. No duplicate artifacts
5. normal limitations on slots and # of magic items still apply.
6. Weapons and Armor can not be enchanted above a +10. No more than +5 can be from straight bonuses, Nor more than +5 can be from effects (flaming, bane, etc).
7. No alignment restrictions. Characters may be evil if you desire.

Let me know if you have questions. anyone knows what Pathfinder book I can buy with the half Crystal Dragon in it

I don't think it is a matter of one book .. the Half-Dragon template is in the Bestiary (#1), but the Crystal Dragon is in Bestiary 2.
