Add to the fact that what I need to do my work well needs portability more than power. All the heavy lifting is done on VMs. I'm never running particularly demanding applications on my laptop these days. RealmWorks may be one of the more demanding.
I update my phone every two years, but keep my laptops running until they fall apart.
