My guess is that this model would work better for you. You get a steady influx of money for delivered major features, sounds great for me.
And about the promises broken regarding kickstarter - (if anything is left i am not sure): the stuff didn't make it due to development constraints and various bumps during the project. Look at the delayed CM launch for example. So it's clear, that some other features had to be de-priotized.
Therefore look forward, think about what would work best with Realm Works and hopefully we will see a few major release cycles. Just guessing here but Iam almost certain that most GM-RW-buyers would pay for major updates.
